The heads been steam cleaned, covered in oven cleaner then steam cleaned and gone over with a wire brush.
Next thing to do is to get the injector holes pluged and welded then I`ll get it skimmed. Once skimmed I`ll be porting the head ready to have the valves lapped in. Just need to locate a "H" or "K" cam.

I'm watching with interest, waiting to see how the wheels turn out. Did you try the fronts with the rim flipped on the center ? I did consider doing that on my 940 but decided to keep the new wheels standard and get stupidly expensive spacers !
Are you anywhere near Andover ? Last edited by Steve940estate; Jan 16th, 2015 at 09:47. |

No I didn`t try flipping the front centres, I moved the centres back so I did`t have to run wheel spacers as I`m not a great believer in them.
The rears came back from banded steel wheels today, They where collected on Monday and delivered back today, fantastic service Job for this weekend is to prime and spray them. I work just outside Andover and live in Romsey.

That looks brilliant. When I tried my wheels on the back it looked like there would be enough clearance to leave the center and get them banded like you have.
I wondered about flipping the centers over so you get the whole inset outwards but didn't want to cut my wheels up to experiment, just wondered if you tried it. I think they would have ended up too wide. Look forward to seeing them painted and tyres fitted. |

Dropped into the fabricators on the way home tonight and picked this little up.
We have two top suspension plates and curved plate for the strut brace, 2 recesed mounting brackets for the strut brace to firewall, 20 stainless wheel nuts, battery tray and cover for mounting the battery in the boot.

Had a very productive day today, I got the new wheels fitted and what a difference they make to the look of the car. Then I started on the strut brace which came out very well and looks the business
Before. After. The strut brace. Next job is the stainless exhaust.

Looks good i may have to get you to make up some adjust plates for the 940.
Pity you haven't fitted a threaded tensioner of the strutbrace, but looks very professional. |
