Agree with ITSv40, Meyle are my choice for bushes on these. Available from PFV last time I looked. A job I've done, so start another thread if you have problems changing them, lots of folk on here that can help. Cheers!

if yours has the brake pedal position sensor a round black sensor with a plug on just under the master cyl that is most likely culprit(easily mended yourself) along with the brake light switch a horrid thing to change, have you any diagnostic codes?also have you checked and cleaned earth cables?those on the battery and also those visible ot the top rearmost area under the bonnet? these are small but crucial and do fail through rust etc,you can test the speed sensors with a cheap multimeter easy, good luck

Does the ABS sensor actually touch the reluctor ring or does it sit on top of it with a space between the ring? I'd say it can't touch the ring as it would grind the senor. Many thanks. |

I had been feeling smug that my own ABS fault was fixed by cleaning the contacts on the ECU but today the dreaded ABS light came back after several months on not showing. Unlike before the light did not go out after restarting the engine. I read the codes using socket 3 on diagnostic unit A as according to my Haynes manual and got 141 (Faulty brake pedal position sensor, shorted to earth or supply) and 142(Faulty stop light switch, open circuit or short circuit). I cleaned the pedal sensor contacts at the servo unit and cleared the fault codes. There seemed little point in cleaning the stop light switch as I assume if that were faulty then I would not be getting brake lights, which I am. On restarting the engine, there were no faults detected (1-1-1) but the ABS light was on. I drove off and at the 20mph ABS automatic check, the ABS light went out. Problem solved do you think?

once opened you will more than likely find the circuit board broken off at the solder joints and resoldering and then resealing will fix it and save you about £160 (dont bother with the only ebay seller selling used as they do not work) also brake light switch will def put light on even though brake lights work, its a 2 channel switch and 1 channel feeds brake light other is feed to abs module. on autopsy of my brake light switch i found a contact missing absent from the abs side,id bet yours is the same. ali express has the brake light switch and its cheap but dont do the other sensor. i hope that helps.
