Mrs Turbodave had a glimmer of joy in her eye when it started rattling the other day and an even bigger glimmer of joy when I pointed out I was sick of the T5 already. I'd keep the TDi indefinitely however I also refuse to spend hundreds of pounds in the process, hence I just can't justify the cost of doing the belt properly... and by that I mean at retail prices. It's more than the car's worth. I don't mind doing the tensioner if it needs it and yes, I'd probably be really annoyed if it broke down terminally due to neglect but bangernomics dictates it's not worth spending copious ammounts of cash on.
The good news... it's still running! |
