I wouldn't advise using additives in a car with that mileage on it.

Use decent fuel (regular diesel & a treat to premium every now & again, or premium all the time if you want). Service the car regularly, including the fuel filter & then you don't need to use additives.

That would be my personal choice.

Thats interesting seen as the premium fuels already have the additives in them...

What is it exactly you're implying?

I never said that premium diesel didn't have additives?

What I'm saying is there's no need to put an additive like Redex for example into a fuel tank or injector cleaner if you use premium fuel & bring the car on a decent drive every so often. That's because premium fuel already has additives in it, so there's no need to add any other aftermarket stuff into the tank.

I wouldn't suggest putting any injector cleaners/fuel additives (Redex etc) in a high mileage car either. The crud that they remove due to their cleaning properties can cause more harm than good.

Much better to service the car regular (including the fuel filter), use quality fuel & bring it on a motorway drive every so often, particularly if the car is just used toddling around town.

"You don't need to use additives". By this I mean that you don't need to use cans of injector cleaner or Redex etc if you already use premium fuel.

Thats more specific.
Its probably redundant using both anyway.

I have used both reddex and an other (forgot, poss carlube) with no ill effect, quite the opposite for me, about 166k miles

Fairly self explanatory I thought, seeming though the OP was asking about whether to use injector cleaners or not.

Many do use Redex etc & that's their choice. I prefer to stick with regular servicing (including the fuel filter) though, quality fuel (premium every so often, if you don't use it all the time) & a boot down the motorway.

I'm not an expert though, nor do I claim to be. Each to their own...
