All is again well with the world!
The other garage have been rather busy so the car wasn't tested until yesterday when it went straight through with no advisories. It's good to have it back. |

Finally got round to fitting a cam belt kit and aux belt tensioner and belt to wife's 2006 D5.
Also changed out the rear ARB D bushes. What a chew they were. |

Cured a bit of a head scratcher that turned out to be a bit embarassing in the end
'Engine System service required' popping up and clearing itself every couple of weeks over the last month, some rough idling and a couple of stalls when coming to a stop, VIDA tells me 'faulty air flow' new air filter, cleaned the MAF, found a vaccum pipe with a sensor on it clipped to the rad (fuel breather?) that looked ok but started crumbling when squeezed, replaced with some nice new silicone tubing... still wouldn't go away found it in the end. didn't tighten the hose clamp at the air box when I took it off to do the gearbox fluid changes a month or so ago *facepalm still new filter never hurts, it was a few years old anyway and then just as I finished all that the service interval indicator came on which is about right seeing as I've done all that and changed the fluids Last edited by stuart bowes; Jul 15th, 2024 at 10:48. |

Mini service done.
New air filter, cabin filter, oil filter + oil change. Washed all the sticky plant crap off the car. Reminded how battered the bonnet and front bumper are after the lorry of gravel incident. Is it worth getting them resprayed when the rest of the car isn't pristine? Will the bonnet start rusting if the chips are deep? I dunno.

touch up pen? or bare minimum a small dab of clear nail varnish is a quick easy temporary protection until you get around to proper repair
unless it is alloy of course |
