Hi, could I check which model did you order ? I am based in London and my car has supposedly been at the port for the last 3 weeks now and I have now been told it might be another 3 weeks before the car is delivered to the retailer. And I get a different message every time I contact customer care. So trying to see what your experience was.

I saw comments that Volvo customer service would not help people if they ordered from the retailer but this was not my experience - I contacted them on web chat and they updated me on where the car was currently located, but they also said they couldn't give an ETA. I've seen posts on other forums that they give varying explanations - usually "transporter shortage" but also "software issue" whatever that means (software issue with the cars themselves or the systme that books the transporters who knows?). |

Thanks . That's really helpful. I ordered a XC60 mild hybrid on the website so haven't really had any help from the retailer where it is meant to be delivered. I have spoken to customer service fairly regularly but the help and the info seems to vary a lot from one employee to the other. The last person I spoke to told me that my car was imported from Belgium and is currently at the port in Grimsby and that a call has gone out from the fleet company to the port and that the current timeline is 2-4 weeks from when the call is made. Given it's already 3 weeks since that call was made I just have to hope it's delivered soon. And on the software I think they have loads of issues with their own system. If I check my order online it's supposedly already at the retailer and due to be delivered next week, clearly contracting what the customer care tells me.

The way I found out it was at the retailer, was that I received an email from volvo with a handover checklist, and the registration number of the car. My handover is scheduled about 12 days later which is tomorrow (this might be partly as I am having them fit a towbar and tracker device at the dealer). |

Thanks Javert. All the best with your new car and hope you enjoy it. Hopefully get mine in the next couple of weeks else will have to start figuring out alternative solutions given I won't have my current car at that point.

I am in London and ordered XC90 mild hybrid , 19th May volvo website changed status to "preparing to handover" I ringed the dealer they said it is not the case. I am keep getting the same status as "it is waiting on transportation". This is not more than 8 weeks, I ve been getting the same message from the support.
