Totally agree with keeping the original motor. B21A non interference is fairly bullet proof.

Cheers I feel it started so well given the circumstances that it defiantly needs a chance of the road again.

I would suggest taking the head off, there are grub screws at the back that need taking out to clean the oil gallery. They tend to block up when not being so well serviced and lead to the cam seizing up in the bearings

That's great thanks for the tip I was actually tempted to have the engine out, give it a going over, but we shall see what time we have, but after seeing the other pulleys I will look to get the head off and go from there. I will be in touch with you guys soon with a parts order

Taking it out would be a good idea and replace all the seals etc while you are there

Modify before you fix
Right so further to the above video, I have been busy collecting parts, first of all subscribers to channel, (make sure you are one wink wink) have been a massive help.
I have focused since buying the car and hearing it run on the suspension, it needs to roll it needs to move it needs to be road legal. So check out a few pics of what I got, also some fancy wheels, bought mainly for the good tires but they do look ace for now, the eventual plan is for some banded steelies. Thanks for following. Modify before you fix... Then for the next instalment the suspension comes off.

Good video - thank you.
Those wheels look fine and will last the rest of the life of the VWW. I cannot imagine why you would want to replace them with banded steel wheels. You mentioned your intention to change to air ride - I can’t see the point of doing that once you have fixed and refurbished the suspension. It is up to you of course, but the 245 is never going to be worth much, so I can’t see the point of spending much money on wheels and suspension when you already have perfectly good solutions for both. Just my views - but then I’m a tightwad.
