Default 2006 V70 haunted indicator

Got woken up in the middle of the night with my alarm sounding. I couldn't stop it as the car battery was completely flat. After putting a jump pack on I managed to disarm the system but the passenger side indicator is sometimes staying on all the time or randomly flashing, no fixed length of time for the flashes. I just can't stop it doing it, so I've had to leave the car with the battery disconnected. Has anybody any idea what the hell is going on? I can't even find a fuse for the indicators!
Thanks
Jim

Evening , your spooky indicator will most likely be the result of the alarm module failing . The on-board batteries corrode & leak wrecking the circuit board , triggering strange happenings . You should find it behind the wheel arch liner in a fancy little safety cage riveted to the body . If you google the alarm module there are plenty of guides & videos on what to do , hope this helps you

Thanks for that! I take it the car can't be used without it being fitted.

Likely the alarm module.
The car will still work fine with the siren module removed (it’s VERY common) but you will get an amber alert on the dash at every start up.. last time I looked it was about £200 for a new module.
I think there is also a fuse that you may be able to pull to calm it down in the short term.

Would that be fuse 8 under the dashboard, alarm siren? ( I can't find any other reference in the fuse list of anything to do with alarms)

Looking on ebay because the circuit in mine is most likely goosed, there aren't any of the correct ones for sale in the UK, but there are lots from the next generation V70 that although look like a different design, have the same mountings and the same 3 wire connector. I'm tempted to buy one and see if it works, unless you guys know different?

I'm not sure it's the alarm module as I've opened it up and the battery is fine and showing 7.7 volts and so is the circuit board. Is there a module that this part connects to?
