Hi
I am interested in any help on my XC90 2010 150,000 miles Getting engine system service and loss of power limp mode on acceleration Got an isoft diagnostic got the codes ECM -1540 and ECM 1507 Had reset but recurs after acceleration to around 35 miles per hour or more No turbo noises or hissing noises to suggest a damaged hose Any ideas appreciated if its a quick fix rather than spending lots to just diagnose Had swirl flaps and egr valve cleared a few years ago Thanks |

That's a boost control issue, both too low and too high. It could be a leak or a turbo vane actuator issue. First step would be to check for leaks, they're usually the cheapest to fix.
If you have access to VIDA, I would have someone sit in the passenger seat with the laptop and log live data as you drive. This may help : https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...mp-mode-88471/ PS - good man getting the codes read, much easier to help....

Hi guys took to a really good independent in Stockport - turned out to be a turbo actuator valve - the guys diagnosed and fitted a refurbished one all for £225 - driving smooth now !
No check engine light ! Such a small part creating such havoc ! |

My fault codes are 1540 and 1517.
Will that be the same problem? Thanks in advance 👍 |

Check for leaks from hoses first. A loss of vacuum pressure from a split hose for example can cause issues with power. Failing that, it could be the same issue that the other person had (turbo actuator valve).

Mine's currently doing the same... We think it's the actuator but struggling to find a genuine refurbished one.
Found a place in Leicester that will rebuild it, but waiting on getting VIDA set up so we can hopefully confirm if it's the actuator. |
