Perhaps moving Volvo to an electric only SUV only range of cars isn't proving profitable afterall 🤷
Whatever the reason I pleased they will be coming back to the UK 😃

Well it is election time and that is the prime time to U-turn!

I do wonder whether it is related to the volumes of those models that they are still selling to the Police and other services. Just like old times now, you see more of dibble in a Volvo than any other again.

Glad to see it, hopefully not much longer before energy efficient, low climate impact diesel engines are back too.

Should also ease the demand pull inflation on used estate models as well.

The fleet car market love em which is why I found it odd that the estate car was allegedly in decline. The estate is the service engineers friend

The stories I've read in the press suggest that basically Volvo underestimated the backlash from their withdrawal and has seen a surge in demand (inc. for 2nd hand models, whose prices are rising) so reckon there is enough demand, after all.

Here's one take on it:

Isn't it just?

To each their own and maybe it's just that I'm getting older but no, the V90 doesn't put the smile on my face that the V70 or XC70 (or indeed, their venerable ancestors) did and still do.

If you took the Volvo badge off the front of the V90 I'd suspect it was something out of the JLR or Mazda stables.

Completely agree.

And I'll repeat my oft-uttered rant. The V60 and V90 are not proper estate cars. Dog-leg tailgate preventing loading to the roof at the rear and no level platform all the way to the front seats when the rear seats are down - they fold down at an angle many degrees short of level.

Not sure what V90 you have looked at with the rear seats down, but my 2022 model goes completely flat from back to front with the seats down, and even with the raked rear window, is more than ample for load lugging when required.
