Default XC60 wiper hitting A pillar

as per title.... the drivers side wiper (RHD) of my 6 month old (only recently acquired) XC60 contacts the A pillar with a noticeable thud....is it simply a matter of loosening the arm fixing nut and dropping it down a spline like in the good old days or is the travel controlled by a sensor ....and if so what can I do about it ?
I fear that moving it down a spline will make it too low when it parks......

Ours always did that and I remembered to tell them on the last service and they fixed it but don’t know how they did it.

It just needs moving slightly. The main difficulty is getting it loose.

Put the wipers in the service position. Undo the nut a good way but don't take it off. Lift the wiper arm to right angles then wobble it back and forth until the seal breaks. Then adjust it one spline back from the pillar and tighten the nut.

Note: You may have to take the nut fully off once the seal is broken to give enough clearance to move a spline.

Update to this….

I put the wipers into the service position and the top of the drivers side stops right on the start of the black area of the glass – about 25mm from the A pillar…..

is that about right
is there a specific measurement
could anyone whose wipers are NOT hitting the A-pillar post a pic of their service position please

thanks

Perhaps it's not hitting the pillar and you have the same problem that I had?
It was the 'slap' from the rubber reversing on standard Volvo items. Cured by fitting Bosch.
