275 45 20 my recommendation and review
So before going on my road trip from London to Mongolia I decided to buy a set of new tyres. The tyres after reading some reviews I bought were accelera iota st68. Budget tyres but not too budget. Mediumish.
I bought 4 tyres from camsskill for £299 With these I travelled on all sorts of roads from europes nice clean smooth roads to georgias rubble stone boulder laden mountain roads. At one point 70kms of road that would destroy your axel and shocks hands down before you made it. Muddy gravel roads and the tyres did not let me down once. Not once did they give me the thought of oh crap. No punctures nothing. Super happy with the performance and their capability. Just sharing my experience of using these where people don’t want to pay 200 a tyre for a premium brand. Regards Slapz. |

Good one. Research does pay off - there are still bargains to be had.
For different reasons I bought some Debica Presto's made by Goodyear for the summer months, and like you, they've genuinely been as good as any premium tyre I've had. |

Bear in mind that when the tyre ratings for wet grip and noise were introduced about 10 years back, they allocated B to all the top grade tyres of the time.
Essentially, the budget brands had to up their game. The premium brands did the same. So if you buy a budget that is B/B or B/C or C/C it is near enough the same grip and noise as a top flight tyre from 10 - 12 years ago. I buy budget for everything and haven't had any grip issues. This wasn't the case 20 years ago when you could buy some real "Ditchfinder" budget tyres that were scary in the wet.

Having had budget tyres on a previous car which were just awful and frightening, I would never go budget for tyres again.
I pay for most of the running costs on my daughter's Mini and there is simply no way I would go budget for any safety related wear and tear items on that either. Personal preferences acknowledged of course.

I've never heard anybody praise Accelera tyres. They are the cheapest you can buy and perform in line with the price. Absence of punctures is hardly a test.

I’ve read some good reviews specially by people who own bigger vehicles such as q7s, x5s, range rovers and the likes. Maybe they don’t fair so well on fiestas. Maybe the extra weight of suvs really brings out their performance? These are iota st-68s all weather designed for suvs not any other accelera model as they do make a range of tyres. My experience has been very good. Much better than the avon zx7s that my car originally came with. My previous A7 had Pirelli p zeros and I really can’t tell much of a difference. The rain in turkey was biblical whole week like a tropical storm, roads flooded but these tyres handled nicely. The only experience I haven’t had is in snow apart from that I hit everything and they genuinely performed very good. I’m not a salesman for them and neither I would share a false good experience. Just sharing my genuine honest experience. And here’s the reviews from suv owners on tyre review for this specific tyre. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Accelera/Iota-ST68.htm Regards Slapz Last edited by SlapNutz; Jul 24th, 2023 at 20:05. |
