Default 2010 2.4 D5 oil type?

Hi
My 2010 xc60 2.4 d5 is due it’s yearly service and was wondering which oil to go with it’s currently on 132,000 miles and since the last service it’s been fairly ticky when running. I’ve seen posts stating to use 5w/30 oil instead of the recommend 0w/30 or even some slightly thicker oil. As the ticking noise only started after the last service it makes me wonder if the previous owner had used thicker oil and now it’s on the correct oil the noise is louder?
Any recommendations for which oil to use would be appreciated.

0W30 A5/B5 spec is the correct oil to use, as recommended by Volvo.

You can use 5w30 A5/B5 if you wish. Its fine for the UK climate. I've used 5w30 loads of times... never had an issue. Just make sure its A5/B5 spec... this is important for the DPF.

If possible, I would want to understand where the noise was coming from rather than just changing the type of oil to see what happens.

Who serviced the car?
