I have discovered that the massage / ventilated seats on my 2010 XC90 Exec. are not working, thinking it was most likely a fuse I checked the small extra fuse box in the rear compartment, but all were ok.
Further checking has shown that the problem extends to all the functions provided by this fuse box ie. massage, lumbar adjustment, ventilation and the heated rear seats, which would suggest a problem with the power supply to the fuse box. The car is still under warranty, but as the dealer I use is almost 60 miles away I would like to be able to make some further checks before going all the way up there. I would hate to take a day off work and make a round trip of 118 miles if the solution was simple, does anybody have any ideas? Would it be possible that the dealer disturbed a connection when fitting the towbar electrics?

Weirdly I have a strange intermittent and totally random fault on the drivers seat on my 2011 Exec. The massage function pulses for a few seconds and then stops without switch being operated! Is this a secret Volvo plan to keep me awake?
Very odd when it happens. Getting the dealer to sort on the first service next month hopefully. Faulty wiring, switch? Completely agree on not wanting to make a long trip to the dealer for what after all is a non-essential luxury extra, that I have never knowingly used. Sure some love it, but as my dad used to say, "just something else to go wrong and then it will cost a fortune". |

Does anyone know if there is a "rear electronic module" or similar that controls these functions?

you are welcome , but if that 40A fuse is blown there is a serious fault somewhere, is there no live feed at all on the rear aux fuse box?

Well its finally stopped raining and I have had time to check the various fuses.
The 40A fuse that Clan mentioned is ok, so it was back to the auxilliary fuse box behind the trim where, after a bit of poking around and a few skinned knuckles, I established that there is power. So there is power to the fuse box, but none of the functions fed from it are working, so where now? Modern electrics are a nightmare, and I am reluctant to start meddling with something I don't fully understand; I have already spent longer on this than it took me to fit a complete new wiring harness to the Moggy 1000 last week. I suspect that I will be making a trip to the dealers next week!

have you put a test light on all fuses in the Aux fusebox then? so we assume that fuse box and fuses are ok?
