Question Display Information

My XC60 T6 has just had its first birthday. The information display is communicating that the vehicle is due for service and to make an appointment with the stealer to perform this task.

I dont want to use the stealer to carry out a basic engine oil change with the associated inflated charges to do so.

Has anyone got the knowledge on how to reset this feature? On my BMW X5 it was a simple task carried out by temporarily placing a shorting link between 2 pins located in the computer interface connector. I believe Volvo would have a similar facility.

Thanks in advance.

didn't you get the 3 year free servicing with the car? if it is 1 year old then you should have - assuming you are in UK

Did you not get your first service for free? Might be worth checking with the dealer you bought it from?

I think you are right, but as a note, there is also a Clarence Town in the Bahamas!

Guys I am located in NSW Australia, we dont get offered the same service deals that are available in the UK.

Since posting this request I have found out via the web that on other model Volvos that this task can be accomplished by using the Odometer Reset Button. Its night time here, will see if I can achieve a result tomorrow.

Would still appreciate if anyone can provide me with information that is specific to the XC60.

Surely you still get some sort of warranty though. I would have though that doing a first service yourself would affect any waranty!

Not sure about the warranty, but not have a Volvo stamp in the log book would certainly affect the resale value in the UK - at least the first few years, after 3 or 4 probably not so desperate

To keep the warranty valid the car will need servicing to the manufacturers recommendations for the length of the new car manufacturer’s warranty.

that is weird. most Volvo dealers here (melbourne) throw in at least 2 years servicing + 3 years road assist
