Default VIDA/ diagnostics

I have a 77 S90 and have VIDA that i use on my S80 2.5T.
The S90 has an OBD port on the trasnisiion tunnel near the handbrake but when i try to use VIDA through it i get a message saying that it cannot connect and that VIDA is obly compatible with cars from 99 onwards.
The car does not have the earlier diagnostic set up either.
Is there another set up that i could use?
