Default How long for dealer to prepare new car for handover?

I'm wondering how long it typically takes for the dealer to prepare a new car for handover once it's delivered to the dealer?

My app seems to be assuming 2-3 weeks, but if I look generally on Google, it says that a week should be more than enough time to prepare a new car?

I'd have said a week. Our last new car was a week, and it had some horrible vinyls to be removed.
The app is likely configured to allow some wiggle-room, in case they get busy or a few people are ill or what-have-you.

Thanks - well on Saturday I received an email from Volvo telling me the registration number of the car and saying my dealer would be in touch to arrange handover.

Is it the dealer or Volvo who actually assigns the registration number?
