Hey all,
I have a Volvo XC60 2009 D5, I think the sunroof needs resetting. Basically after being in the garage for a service, they discounted the battery and reset the computer as we were having issues with the heating. The heating was fixed but now the sunroof won’t close completely so you get a whistle. I initially adjusted the screws on the sunroof (not realising it needed to be recalibrated) which fixed it for a while. But it’s now raised a bit more and the screw fix no longer works. I did try putting it in key position one and two and putting the sunroof on tilt and then closing it back again, but that didn’t seem to do anything, plus the cover closes before the tilt closes so I guess that is the wrong procedure. Any suggestions on how to recalibrate the sunroof or do I need to take it to Volvo to have them reset it?

Until I read about the recent heatwaves etc I would have said that having a sunroof in the UK was a triumph of optimism over reality. When looking at buying a car I always immediately cross any off the list that have a sunroof, manual transmission or beige interior. Non negotiable deal breakers. Maybe now a sunroof is a desirable feature after all...
Sorry, cant help you with your problem though - good luck.

Hi,
During my internet browsing, I stumbled upon sunroof calibration guide, which worked on my MY16 XC60. Since I can not upload whole PDF document, I'll try to explain it here: 1. Set ignition key to second position (long press to "Start engine" button without pressing brake pedal) 2. Fully close sunroof, including blind 3. Start the engine and keep it to 500-1000 RPM (so, just let it to idle) 4. Pull down sunroof opening button and hold it for at least 35 seconds (as when you want to close it from "Ventilation" position). Sometime around 30 seconds, sunroof should fully open and close by itself. 5. Release sunroof opening button BR |

FYI, one simple thing to point out, when the instructions say to pull the sunroof button down, it does actually mean pull the button down and not push the button forward to do a manual close and hold. To do this just put your index finger on the button lip and gently pull straight down for around 30 seconds and then the sunroof will do its open and close and adjust. Now my sunroof sits so flat, I don’t think I have ever seen it this flat. Thanks BR!
