Should I replace these engine mounts?
Do they look like they need to be replaced?

They look perished to me. Time for a change.

I'm about to do an engine swap, ideal time to fit new mounts. Did you go for original Volvo hydraulic items or third party ones, either way who did you use?

I would swap them out, but only after you address the oil leak.
Mine didn't look too bad but when placed next to new mounts, had shrunk 12mm over 28 years! |

I can only find PPS engine mounts for sale through IPD, FCP, Parts Monster and PFS but Classicswede sells a polybush mount, I don't know how much a polybush mount would increase the NVH compared to a hydro mount, my mounts need replacing and I think those are the only two options other than convert to old style solid mount brackets and use jaguar engine mounts but then it would be cheaper and easier to use Dai's polybush mounts.

My brother fitted solid aluminium engine mounts to his Peugeot 309 GTi and the entire car shook! Hopefully polybushes wouldn't be as bad. |

It does seem PPS are the only place you can get rubber mounts from and what I stock.
Poly mounts are fine if you drive the car but if you spend a lot of time sat in traffic then the bit of vibration you get at tick over is likely to become irritating |
