Default Exterior Temperature Sensor - 2009 XC90

Part Number for this sensor is: 1052503. It clips into the underside of the drivers side (UK - R) wing mirror.
1. I haven't been able to find one anywhere. Anyone know who might supply it?
2. Skandix says the part is discontinued - has it been replaced with something else?
3. The 'outside temperature indicator' on the dash is showing no temperature, just dashes --. I assume this sensor is the problem?
4. Does the temperature reading from this sensor affect the operation of the air conditioner?
Thanks for any help.

try cross referencing with v70 or s80 its more than likely the same part you could source a used one as the are not prone to failure .

Yes, it will have an affect on the air conditioning in summer and the heating in winter.

Have you tried cleaning the sensor? Its underneath the driver's side mirror. Maybe there's dirt/debris on it. I'd try that before ordering anything.

This part may only be available from the main dealer if you want new. I think sourcing a used one could be tricky, as its not a common part that fails.

I had one of these go on my V70 years ago.
A bit of Googling led me to the value of the thermistor. I bought one off ebay and fitted it in the original plastic housing.
That might be an option for you.

I think this is the one I used to repair the V70 temp sensor.
You will need the 2K version.
