Repairing snapped plastic on head to stop water ingress
A few weeks ago, I drove through a big puddle and shortly after had the engine management light come on. Hooked up VIDA and had a misfire on cylinder 2, sparkplug and coil looked OK apart from quite a bit of crud (and I think there was some moisture).
I cleaned it up and checked cylinder 3 also (which shares a chamber / void under the protective plastic cover) and noticed that where the top of the coil goes over the spark plug hole the plastic is snapped which I suspect is what allowed crap and water in. I cleaned the plugs and coils and the engine no longer seems to be misfiring, but the code is still present (I'm guessing after it hasn't seen the problem for a while it will just go away??). My question is, what should I use to repair this snapped bit of plastic? I tried whitemorph but the area is too hot and it melts. What should I use? Cheers.
