A 100€ windshield sunscreen?
The offer came in mail this morning from the official Volvo dealer in my country, and among various offers there was this windshield sunsreen/protector listed at neraly 100€. And it was not even branded with Volvo logo or name. Nothing. It seems like your usual supermarket aluminium-and-cardboard type, with the only (visible from offer) advantage that it is tailored to a specific windshield and not universal, so it should fit like a glove, leaving no gaps and protecting everything inside.
But at 100€??? Seems a bit too much given that I buy mine whenever it is on "special price" action in a local supermarket (approximately 2x per year), and I get them for like 2-3€ a piece. Sure, they don't "fit like a glove" and they go to the outside, but they are very big, cover the windshield almost perfectly, and I use them in the winter too since they prevent icing on the windshield during the night., while during the summer, being on the outside, they tend to keep the heat outside of the cabin.
So I can't understand why would someone buy a 100€ thing when he can get like 25-30 of them for the same price, basically being able to use one for the winter seaon and toss it in the bin and then use another for the summer season and toss that one too, and repeat that for a decade - ariving at the same price point.
