Default Volvo v40 D4 2016, stalling with a little less than half fue

Hello everyone, I have a volvo v40 D4 2016 model. There is no problem when the fuel is full, but when the fuel drops below half a tank, problems start. When I stop at a red light and press the gas pedal a little, the engine stops and I have to shift the gear to P and start it again. Why do you think this problem happens? It's like the car doesn't want to go. I just changed the fuel filter but a few days later it did the same problem. Do I need to replace the fuel pump?
Thank you so much!!

It sounds like a fuel pump issue, particularly as you've already replaced the fuel filter.

You need to get the codes read via diagnostics before replacing any parts. Maybe there's a fault code stored in the system that will point you in the right direction. Sometimes you can have a fault code, but it doesn't put a warning light on the dash. You won't know that unless you read the codes.

Thank you very much for your answer. I bought an OBD2 device and searched for an error code. I only got U0301(41) error code. Do you think this could be the cause?
You are right what you said. I think the fuel pump is faulty and needs to be replaced. My only fear is if the same problem occurs even though the fuel pump is changed... because now in Germany volvo is replacing the fuel pump for 3000€.
Do you think there is a possibility of this problem due to EGR Valve or injection?
Thank you so much!

I would advise bringing it to a Volvo dealer or specialist for proper diagnosis. Tell them the problems you are having and take it from there.

You don't want to replace the fuel pump and then find out when that's done that it doesn't solve the problem. Diagnose first, replace after. It sounds like a fuel pump problem, but I wouldn't gamble on spending 3,000 euros without definitely finding out what the problem is beforehand.

D4 engines are known to have EGR problems, but that code doesn't have anything to do with the EGR I don't think. U0301(41) is a software issue.

Get a garage to check over the car first. Don't buy any parts.
