Passenger door(s), windows and Mirror fault
Hi,
I cannot open the door, windows on the passenger side and the electric mirror wont fold. I have read many other posts but I am after for some advice, this is what I have tried so far...:
The problem I have is that the doors are deadlocked so hard to get to the PDM unit as I cannot open passenger door to remove door card. what would people suggest I do as an approach to this, also if I get a new PDM and remove will I have to re-program the unit for it to work? it seems like a huge cost and I was wondering what expereince people have had? or what they would recommend... thanks Last edited by asuppel; Jul 23rd, 2018 at 15:20. |

Door module fault
Did you manage to get this sorted?
My son has just had his passenger window and mirror stop working and then had to pull over to put out a fire inside the door. We are hoping that it is just a module failure. How easy is this to change?

Door module fault
Just to follow this up, my son stripped the door card off and found that the module had melted, along with the plug/socket and damaged the wiring.
On ordering replacements from the local Volvo garage they said they had not heard of the module having caught fire before and suggested that the wiring at the door hinge had broken and caused an electrical spike or incorrect signal. Our feeling is that a failed module component caused overheating. Upshot is that when the parts arrive and are fitted it will still need a software download (from Sweden) which requires half hour labour.
