Looking for CEM (30621305)
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a CEM to replace my current one as I suspect it is the cause of dimmed/malfunctioning headlights, and after a load of trouble shooting it leads me there. I can't seem to find any CEM with the part number matching - if anyone has a working one (preferably from a V40 (with front fog, cruise control & rear wiper)) I would be interested in doing business with you! If the part number matches and the added features above aren't coded please message me anyways and I'll likely find a service to clone my current one. Additionally if anyone knows where I could potentially source this part from I'd be super appreciative!! I've attached an image of my CEM in case there's any useful codes/references on it I am not aware of - thanks for any help! |

I have sourced a CEM with the same part number 30621305 however it comes from a 2004 2.0 volvo v40 and mine is a 2003 1.8 v40
Do you know if the CEM would still be suitable as the part numbers match? If it requires reprogramming I'll send it off to clone my current. Thanks |

Hi, this im not sure of. 1.8 cem to a 2 litre..? From an Estate to a saloon, vice versa...? Maybe same meat but its different gravy. I wouldn't plug it in only to find its not and cause malfunctions elsewhere.
put it this way. Better to be safer than sorry. Best course of action would be to get it cloned. Be great to know how you get on. Good luck. Last edited by nokinnikon; Apr 4th, 2024 at 06:28. |

Hi-as long as the part numbers match there is no problem replacing CEM units..I have changed two and no re-programming is necessary. As one of the guys above points out, you can replace the relays individually as they cost pennies...you need a soldering iron and a very steady hand...

The reg is AV03 WMZ and part number for the CEM is 30621305. I've had no luck finding any same parts or services that'll repair it for me. Given I have no experience with this sort of repair, I dont want to risk trying to repair it myself and damaging it as id have a scrap car in that case!

Update - I've purchased a replacement CEM, same part number from Poland (UK/RHD Market part) on Monday, its arrived today and I've fitted it. All works perfectly! Headlights are back!! Super happy with that. Only thing that does not work is the rear wiper as the part was from an S40 but I can work with that until I decide if I'll ship it off to be reprogrammed with my original.
Thanks all for the help! |
