hi
this is hard to explain but when i am steering left for example round a roundabout i can feel the steering wheel trying to pull me the other way ever so slightly if you dont hold the wheel tight you can watch it move left to right a few mm on its own! it also does this when sitting still if you put a slight bit of pressure on it,i am getting a squeek coming from near the belts not a slip but a squeek could this be related? it sounds the same as when i had a warped pulley on my astra its like a pulsation |

Hi, my previous car was a V40 1.9d which had a similar problem. Going around roundabouts or tight curves the steering would try to centre itself sometimes with a slight judder. The cause was a worn tie rod end bearing, the rod end bearing is seated in a rubber cup which perishes and could be the source of the squeak. An easy diy fix with plenty of videos on YouTube etc.
