V70 D5 S 163 - Issue List - thoughts & verification?
Hello Everyone!
I recently got given a V70 by a well meaning friend ... (the last one I bought I was ripped off and it was never delivered and never got my money back in spite of going through Court and Sherrif Officers! ) The 'but list' so far : 1) ABS diagnosis : n/s front wheel sensor (on way) and machanical Fault in pump ( found that the electronics is wired to each car so just swappign th epump can be £50 ++ than Volvo's £2062 insane price! Phew ! Going to check wheel bearing in case it's wobbled and damaged the sensor in some manner and in case there's a common cause? 2) Dual Mass Flywheel : not making too much noise the local trusty mechanic says, so hoping to get time to try and resolve it with the best value for money parts. Working on this but suggestions really welcome. Zero plans to do a Single Flywheel due to vibrations, snappy crankshaft, noise and so on .... 3) N/s Front wishbone rear bush (tbc) as the car can pull left under power etc. Thoughts are to replace the bush alone or whole wishbone? What is best long term ? 4) Air con : Noticing if I turn off the air con, the car mists up very quickly. This a feature or another issue? The air con is very cold and getting heat is harder when air con is on. So I'm guessing something is up with it ? Yet to dig into this but any ideas please? 5) N/s front window needs an extra up signal to shut properly or it drops down half and inch /15cm ish. ? Thoughts please? 6) Drivers seat belt is missing the trim covering the rachet mechanisium. 7) Key on spare key fob flops and won't stay 'out nor in' ? How to fix this? 8) Not yet had it verified when the timing belt was last done so trying to find the best supplier for one! And I guess the whoel kit. Car has done 207K so far. I'm the 3rd owner. Got some receipts. I've done a heap of research and finding what I can, I believe I've located some good parts suppliers, but any recommendations always welcome ! Always looking for the best value for money! Got all the original data when it was supplied from Volvo and they say it's the '05 model on an '04 plate. It has a black engine cover. Thank you for all an any help and ideas and suggestions! |

5. check the sunroof and wiper drain tubes are clear, also the wheel wells for water.
if not just thoroughly clean the inside screen with a good quality cleaner, dirt attracts moisture.

check that the reluctor rings are good . if you end up doing clutch and flywheel make sure to replace oil gallery core plug when you are in there . also check hand brake shoes for delamination as they can jam and wreck the hub. good luck with your new car

window backoff
Re 5) normally you need to do a window calibrate with vida, but... you can do this if you follow (precisely) some instructions & remove a fuse from the panel below the headlamp switch. ill find a link for you..
