S40 T4 - Whole car for Spares

Hi all,

Sadly after 3+ years the S40 is overheating...looks very much like it's the head gasket.

Mot'd last month, replaced front droplinks, and serviced.

Since owning I've had the timing belt, pulley, water pump and aux belt changed. As well as, front shocks, top mounts and links.

Stamped history up until I bought it, since then I've plenty of receipts to back up the regular servicing and odd jobs done.

Car is mechanically standard and unmolested, it's been taken care of. Some age related marks as to be expected. Bit of rust on N/S Rear arch.

I'm looking for £300, otherwise I'll have to strip and scrap it.

Standard 16" Alloys included, x1 brand new tyre, other have decent tread.

17" White Oz alloys, with x4 matching tyres all fantastic tread..can be yours for an extra £250. No curb marks, some brake dust wear.

Mileage? Road tax? Where about Berkshire are you and is the car driveable if I keep topping up the water?

Have you tried changing the thermostat and/or checked the temperature sensor?

Worth a punt surely before breaking such a nice looking car?

The mileage is at 150k.

Tax can be supplied at buyers expense, 5+ months currently but I'm planning on claiming this back.

It's located in Slough, Berkshire. The car is drive-able, as I stop-started back home from work when it happened.

The thermostat has been changed and the sensor checked by a local mechanic.

I will most probably have it as I am looking for a replacement for my T4. Mine is perfectly fine mechanically wise, but has developed quite a lot of rust in a few places. SO even if your whole engine has issues, then I can just swap mine in there and all the goodies I need. Let me have a chat with OH tonight and I will get back to you. I will most probably have it of you and will most probably keep the tax too. Can you PM me your email?
