Volvo 245 Relay
My 245 just cut out while driving. The photoed relay made some loud buzzing noises and was very hot. I managed to get the car started and got back to a car park. But now it wont start at all. I assume its a problem with the relay and I have another in my spare car but could it be something else? The relay is located behind the glovebox.

That looks borked. When you say behind the glove box... where?
Because the last time i removed a relay from anywhere there, it was a fuel pump relay... |

Pretty sure that's the fuel pump relay number in picture 1.

Yes, that is the later type fuel pump relay. Google up the number. Readily available. Early cars used a green one, will plug in but internals are different.

It's definitely one of the spares worth carrying. If the car ever cuts out or won't start, then 1) check fuses 4 & 6, 2) swap the fuel pump relay.
