Default Febi Bilstein strut spring cup

Had a squeak and bumpy knock for a month or two, was the spring cup seat.

To get a clear feel for what was happening I climbed onto the front valance, put one foot partially on the wing gutter rail where the bolts are and one on the Black metal valence/ slam panel hold onto edge of fully open bonnet and got the car bouncing on one side.

This was enough motion to see and hear the motion , the other side was pretty quiet with less motion.

The cup/spring seat was from PFV a Scantech part - (made in PRC) the inner metal bush was totally detached from the cup.

Avoid Scantech parts, pricey and dont last well.

Anyone used Febi Blistein spring cup as can get these for less than £10 each

I have the Febi made in Germany in red boxes, but installed them only 3 months ago. So far so good, perhaps they are a little more stiff compared to the Volvo ones.

I did a suspension overhaul back in August(?) using Febi srping seat cups and top bearings with Bilstein struts. Also got my cups for around £10 from Ace car parts on fleabay. Done around 3 - 4K since and all seems good so far.

As i couldnt get my hands on these earlier today thru local shops and couldnt wait for 2 to 4 days delivery - I bought 2 genuine ones from the robber.

I moaned at the price and he did them for £29 + vat ( A spares place in St Neots wanted to sell me First Line ones for this price! )

Put it on with new meyle drop link all silent again now.
