Air Con Question
I bought a 2012 XC60 D5 a couple of months ago, one small issue is that the Aircon only starts blowing cold after about five minutes driving.
Can anyone tell me if this is how it’s meant to operate or do I have a problem? |

Having worked on air con some years ago I would say its possible yours is slightly low on refrigerant. Not enough to stop the compressor working but enough as to reduce its efficiency. Take it to your local aircon specialist. Most garages call a specialist out if you take it there. The national chain who sell bikes and other items including cans of (gas) do not have the in depth knowledge required.

Thanks for the reply, however I have had the refrigerant checked and re gassed, there were no leaks detected either, but the problem persists.
When it does kick in it’s ice cold. |

The A/C on my XC60 is not instantaneous. It comes in probably after a couple of minutes or so. It has always been like that from new.

Mines the same, It takes a couple of min's before kicking into high gear so to speak.
Mine's always set on fully auto if that helps

Same as above - seems to be the norm.

Yep my '08 plate car is the same - in contrast to my '03 plate XC90 which is almost instant.

Thanks
Thanks to everyone for replying, I’m now very happy that my XC60 is behaving normally.
