Any guidance welcomed
I have a generic amazon OBD code reader which was great for my 04 plate Z4 BUT not so good for my 2010 XC60 Anyone got any recommendations for a step up basic that ticks the volvo boxes? Cheers Stuart |

What exactly are you wanting to do?
Your car is still OBDII so any reader will work for generic engine fault codes and live data. Dice and Vida is the Volvo main dealer diagnostic solution which requires a suitably specced laptop and expect to pay £100+ for that. The iCarsoft reader is a Volvo specific reader and standalone tool for multiple module reading but isn't as comprehensive as Dice and Vida.

I can’t reset the srs airbag warning, no stored codes despite it showing intermittent abs and stability warning lights Wondered if my obd reader is man enough or whether I needed a better one for a more modern car |

Even my 19 year old car has 12 modules and you have maybe 20+ modules including SRS, BCM and CEM which most likely relate to the issue you're having so you need a tool with the capability of reading those and all other available modules. I can supply a Dice for £135 which comes with Vida 2014d and you need to already have a suitably specced laptop or Macbook to run the software. Lots of positive feedback on my sales thread here.

Hi i use icarsoft 2 for my XC60 D5, works well, saved me money so far. Reading links in the past, Dice and vida are the best, but icarsoft is quick to use, keep in the car..value for money

Not wishing to highjack the tread, I’ve just been given a “BlueDriver”, does anyone have any experience with these? I haven’t plugged it in yet in anger. The one time I did, it picked up my car and the VIN number, year etc.

CEM, BCM, ECM errors can be read with free phone app Car Scanner ELM OBD2, which has many pre-defined Volvo settings and profiles, so it gives access to many Volvo-specific sensors. It can read the DPF soot level in D5 engine, etc. Full Pro version is 3-5 quid.
BlueDriver dongle and app (99 USD) hardly shows any sensors in Volvo. Ok, it will read your VIN number... |

It was a gift/freebie, I might just plug it in and run around town and see what it throws up 😃. Nothing lost. I was impressed that if read my VIN.
