Cheers guys, agree with comments. I’ve ordered the bits to make the led flash reader. I’ll update tomorrow!

Hi Barnoluk

I don't know what other clues or symptoms you are getting (except for the lambda light) but one thing it might worth checking is the small rubber elbow under the intake manifold (alternator end).

They split, causing an air leak which affect idle (don't remember about lambda).

Worth locating it anyway because it is a common problem,

They can be replaced without removing the intake manifold by using a pair of curved hemostats/surgical or fishing forceps.

Thanks all. Regards the flash code reader I’m getting conflicting messages about which pins on the obd port I am to connect to.

I have seen pins 5, 6 and 16 written but also another schematic including pin 3?

Anyone made one for a b5252s engine and can confirm?

I also don’t have a resistor.

I have

12v led
Momentary switch
Obd2 male plug to solder to.

Any help valued!

I doubt if the hose you mention would massively affect the mixture, as this is before the MAF sensor, but if all you're doing is trying to address the engine management light, then changing the Lambda sensor is just guessing - it could be caused by a hundred other things, and Lambda sensors on these don't tend to fail particularly often.

If that hose is shredded, then others may be too, including vacuum lines - statistically speaking this is far more likely to be causing your problem IMHO, so well worth a thorough check of all hoses and vacuum lines and replace where appropriate.

However, my advice (and many others on here) would be to solve why you can't read the codes from the ECU - you really need to know what code it has thrown, so you have a fighting chance of addressing the right area - guessing is time-consuming and expensive. Lots of advice on here on how to read codes, and what scanners etc. to use. Yours should be OBDII compliant, unless it's a 10V engine (I think?), in which case others on here will tell you how to read the codes.

By the way, in spite of the symbol on the dash, it's not a "Lambda Light" as such, it's an engine management fault light, when the engine is running it will light whenever the ECU detects a problem in any part of the engine management system, of which the Lambda sensor is only a small part.

Nice one luxobarge, I made the code reader and pulled the codes 122 and 243. Now to try and find a throttle position sensor
