D4204T8 V40 D2 engine starts but will not rev and cuts out
Hi chaps, new to the brand. I have a 52k V40 that will start, will rev if you gently press the accelerator and build the revs but will stall.. if you try to just rev it will either rev to 200 odd revs and cut out. It then may take a few turns of the engine to start again.
a couple of codes that are apparently there are P22907B injector control pressure too low and P00047B Fuel volume control valve, circuit high.. The fuel pump seems noisy.. fuel in tank 120 miles just under a qtr. Pressure at the injectors on tick over is normal. Has anyone got any clue? |

Sorry you didn't hear an answer for so long; maybe try posting this question in the relevant V40 sub-forum as well?
On your issue, when was your fuel filter last changed? I've heard a few times now that a dirty filter can cause so many symptoms and is easily remedied. Otherwise, this post had the same codes as you and it turned out to be the Crank Position Sensor https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showp...64&postcount=7. Does your tachometer register any movement while cranking? If not, I'd investigate this area for either damage to the wiring or the sensor itself. For such a cheap part it could be an easy fix.

You could try filling the tank fully with fuel as this will ease the workload on the fuel pump (especially if its under performing) - its a cheaper test than swapping out the fuel pump DS |
