I have had a run of issues with this car...here is a list of what's been done since I've had it:
Fuel Filter Air filter MAF Sensor Throttle Body Turbo Camshaft Sensor Glow Plugs Swirl Arm (I can't bring myself to add up how much I've spent on this car). This has all been done through my local garage using std code readers. What I have now is an intermittent 'Engine Management System Required' and frequent limp mode until stop and start. I've now got my VIDA software running and read the codes: ECM-9190 ECM-91A0 ECM-9140 I've only read the code from memory so far as errors not been present when I was reading it. Any thoughts, tips or guidance would be appreciated. I suspect it's a cable, but feel a bit lost. |

Today it went into limp mode with the usual engine system service indicator. Left engine running and plugged in vida. Got the ECM9140 code. Cleared errors on the Delivery Tab and rescanned. All clear. Turned off and on a few times, error remains clear. I was hoping that it would keep coming back, just to validate the error is the only one I get. Pretty sure it's the major culprit.
On that basis and given that I've had a new throttle body, does anyone have any thoughts on further diagnosis? I am thinking that I leave Vida plugged in and scanning whilst I wiggle some cables. Any thoughts on what charts to look at whilst I do that, or would the Delivery tab just flash up the error if I managed to provoke it? Any assistance, guidance or general sympathy would be gratefully received 😁 Thanks Alex |

Update. Took a look at the ECM Module and pulled out the connectors. I've taken a picture..some odd white marks on the connector block. They look a bit like tipex marks.
I've sprayed them with contact cleaner and will see how it goes. Anyone seen anything similar? I'm thinking about changing the wiring loom next....gulp! Any help, guidance would be gratefully received. Thanks Alex |

It certainly look like someone has marked the particular pins for a reason. I would be trying to find out what the pins relate to from the wiring diagram and then go from there.
Maybe someone on here will be able to help with the numbers. |

Will be interesting if they relate to the throttle body as that's the main error code. Will try and find a wiring diagram. Thanks
Alex. |

Thanks. I'm thinking that I run the engine, load up the ECM on VIDA and start up a graph associated with the throttle module. I think that, if I'm systematic, I should be able to wiggle each wire on the ECM connector to see if I get anything to visibly impact the graph output.i may download wiring diagrams from eBay so that I can be more targeted.

dependant on which version of vida you have it may have wiring diagrams included .

That's useful to know..I'd not given it a thought! 😂 Mind, trying to find part numbers is hard enough, so probably won't be intuitive even if they are there! Thanks.A.
