I find it hard to believe it's the easier option to use bike carbs, but if you have them already...

This is the carb I'm using:

here's one on ebay

I bought correct jets from Southern Carburettors for ~£10

Some other recommendations can be found here: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=155444

I think you're making an awful lot of work for yourself, which may well not work very well at the end (although will sound boss)

Well yeah buying a Weber is probably easier than bike carbs but I thought the bike carbs are just a bit different. Ok thanks I'll take a little look. Ok fair enough well at least its doable.

Ha well it won't be pulling it that much to bits. I've got the carbs now and I'll be making a mani for it soon enough although there are more pressing things I need to fix on it first before I upgrade it. I might put a thread up at some point actually doing a bit of a guide on the bike carb conversion as I can't find anything on it online.

Bear in mind the MOT emission limits.

Post I need advice for my FI convertion

Hello guys! I wanted to ask because i know there are people who know what to do here. My question is- Can I and is it worth it to convert my Volvo 460 1.8 89' from a carb to fuel injection. I inherited this car from my grandfather and this is my first car and i want to learn how to do some work on it. Any tips and answers will help a lot!

Not really the right group for the 400 series

The conversion can be done, you would be best with a full fuel injection car as a donor. The EFI wiring can be unpicked, it is common to many Renaults of the era.

You could consider swapping to the B20F or going down the 16v path. The engines are common to the 340's so these conversions are well covered in those models

Thanks for replying! I thought of this. Volvo 460 has a 2.0 model with fuel injection(not sure tho) and i may use parts from this 2.0 engine, but i will try to keep the b18u one. I can't pm you, my account on here is new. Thanks!
