Hi Guys,

I'm running a V70 T5 2001 with a Rica PPC map...couple of questions:
1) Is this thing safe with a remapped car?
2) Are there any noticeable gains?
3) Where is the best place to get one?

Cheers

Hi Jod,

if it helps I think it's basically a replacement for the stock Boost Control Solenoid, which is designed so you can dismantle and service/clean it. I don't think it's meant to be uprated except that it will usually replace a tired BCS.

EDIT Apologies if you know all this already :-)

Thanks Don, I'll be flush again soon so I'll give you a call. Will there be a noticeable difference in boost then?
cheers

Only if you have a dodgy bcs already.
It is not a preformance enhancer, just a heavy duty unit with the ability to be rebuilt instead of replaced....but looks shiny

There will be no increase in boost generated, it is that if your BCS is worn or caked in crap it will be quicker thus giving the impression of more boost..

On a comparisson basis against a new stock unit i expect there would be no difference whatsoever...

Thanks Pete, i was rather hoping Ipd were claiming to have created a Uber-Bcs... Sadly as you say i appears to be simply a non-performance replacement for a stock item...

Cheers
