Default Wired Handsfree Kit

Picked up a 2005 V70R AWD yesterday which has a wired handsfree kit installed. Reading the installation instructions for these it refers to a software install after fitting. I would like to remove the kit as I don't even know what phone it is meant for and I prefer Bluetooth anyway, also the cradle is right next to the centre stack and looks out of place.

Any one have any idea if I will need to have the software removed if I take the kit out?

Thanks

its not a bluetooth kit though - its hard wired into the system. I was just wondering about the software that is insalled into the Volvo system to make it work - will this softeware have too be removed if I take out the kit.

There is no s/w installed into the car for aftermarket hands-free kits, only for the Volvo one. AFAIK you can get a convertor to change most Nokia kits into Bluetooth so you can keep the rest of the wiring etc and just lose the cradle, that's what I have on my Alpina. Have a look on the Nokia website.
