I had something similar..But when my fuel gauge read 150 miles left I had warning message "Urgent check engine" and it cut out and wouldn't start.
I filled up with diesel & changed the fuel inter & all was good.
The code when read said "Low fuel pressure"

I thought this cured the issue. But when I again got down to just below 1/4 of a tank, with 175 miles on the range showing, it again showed the warning "Urgent check engine" and cut out again.
I filled up with diesel again & it took a while to start but it did.

I now don't let in run below 1/2 tank & am looking to change out the in tank fuel pump, as I now think this is the problem. I don't think it harvesting from the one side of the tank!!

I always use supermarket fuel especially tesco as their petrol was the highest octane level when I used to race powerboats. Haven't a clue about their diesel produce mind, but I cant see the "supermarket" brands having their own refinery. Like cereals....same factory...different box?

Default engine service required

Yes I am. Managed 1 day last week without it happening which I covered 80 trouble free commuting miles. However, the following day only it caught with me on my way home lol dont mind meeting up but to try your reader. Does the message need to be on to read the code or will it remember the last message raised?

The code will be stored and will be read by the Autel, so it's no great shakes if it doesn't return in the meantime.
You can call me or text tomorrow on <snip> and we'll sort something out either tomorrow or the next couple of days
Sorry to the OP for hijacking the thread. My pm's still aren't working :/

Default Engine Service Required - Cruise control failure

Just to reflect to all that offered a solution. Codes read = clutch position sensor. Reset codes, fitted clutch position sensor. Now Covered 200 trouble free miles since install Monday with cruise function working as should.

Cheers everyone especially Cheshired5 from Crewe. LEGEND!!!

Thanks everyone for the info about the fuel filter. Had same problem - changed it yesterday and everything now fine. Tenner for the filter and another tenner for a really good metal strap wrench tool. The filter I took out was completely black. I guess this was due to running the fuel too low?

Correct however the big difference is when the tanker gets to the station, branded stations mix the fuel with detergent additives to help maintain your engine, supermarkets stations do not...

Default Same Problem different solution

I have just had the same message engine system service urgent. I changed the filter and it did nothing, the one in the car was less than a year old and clean but I changed it anyway. It ended up being the fuel pressure sensor which was a nightmare to find, so much so I bought a second hand one with matching numbers and it worked. The car went nuts full on rad fan speed, hunting, stalling it was undrivable and now it's fine again. ECM 2500 was the OBD2 reading on my plug in unit.
