For Sale, spares or repair
H Reg 740 Turbo diesel Estate, manual. T & T June '11 but 99.9% sure head gasket's blown. Still in local use but blows all the water out after about half an hour and there's oil in the header tank, although dipstick is still clean
A little lumpy when starting, and not starting as well as she did. Although I had antifreeze in she froze up when covered by a foot and a half of snow. (Although being a total pillock, as she started o.k. I didn't realise that until she overheated; I thought the heater not working might just be a fuse, doh!) Bodywork sound, though not immaculate. Driver's seat heater has never worked, neither has the fuel gauge. Slight vibration in steering and rear screen heater doesn't work. Cloth seats a little scruffy. This has been basically a workhorse used to carry ladders and paint around as well as much-loved private car. Any offers? Also anyone want to sell me a replacement, real cheap? Doesn't have to be pretty, just reliable. |

Sorry, it's got to be an estate as I need to get stepladders and decorating equipment in it.

Hi,
If you end up breaking this, and it has a/c, can I have the compressor please? Thanks, Steve

A very oily one! ...2.4 (2383) turbo diesel. The Reg doc has the model as 1800 ES Auto, but it's not and never has been automatic!
It's 1990, got some of the previous history and service log, but hasn't been regularly serviced by a garage since I've had it. (running on a shoestring!) Shame on me. Like they say, you don't know what you've got till it's gone. It's served me well for 3 and a half years. Modern cars are just too complicated, what with all the electronic wizardry and computery stuff. Somebody take her and give her the love she deserves... |

Getting desperate!
I've had to succumb to another another car for now and unless anyone wants my Volvo it will go to the scrappies at the weekend and they will give me £125. I would much rather see it go to an enthusiast. Unfortunately I have nowhere to store it off road for bits to be taken off, it has to go as one lump. It will still just about drive and has T & T till June.
