Default Xc90 front brakes

Thanks to all who have contributed posts found here, I decided today to replace my 2009 xc90 front pads. I dont mess about with safety so i opted to spend out on volvo parts {£93} ouch !, I am NO mechanic but thanks to the posts here i found it an easy job so long as you have the correct size torx heads. jacked it up and axle standed the chassis, whipped off the wheel, prised the retaining spring off by using a flat head in the centre and twisting till it releases from the housing, removed the 2 rubber caps off the torx heads, undid them,[ longer one on top] compressed the piston [remove brake fluid reservoir first but watch out for spills as you compress piston]. lifted off the whole caliper and poked out the old pads, gave the caliper carrier a good clean and with a bit of copper grease fitted the caliper with new pads back on and refitted the torx screws and caps. replaced the retaining spring using thumbs and fingers, refitted wheel and fluid reservoir..Done.. took me an hour and a half to do the pair and saved a bomb from letting the volvo 'stealers' do it. It's a heavy car so please take safety seriously and make sure its properly supported before you get in there, good luck.
