Question Problems when coming to a stop.

I'm experiencing an issue when I come to a stop, say at lights......I slow the car and leave the pressure on the break waiting for the lights to change. After a few seconds the car seems to be trying to put itself into another gear as though I'm trying to accelerate while still having my foot on the break. I'm not catching the accelerator pedal by mistake so am confused as to what could be causing the problem. Anyone out there experienced the same fault?

Thanks

Rob

Presumably you have a D5 Geartronic?

When doing as you describe, leaving the selector in D and your foot on the brake, the car actually takes itself out of gear after a few seconds. When you release the brake pedal the drive is taken up again for moving off.

This is normally all done silently without you sensing it, possibly you have an adjustment problem? Someone may be able to comment?

You don'y say which model/year.
Could it be a fast idle? That could be caused by several things.
