V40 R-Design 2014 Software
Hi Guys, does anyone have experience of changing from a disc system to USB for updating the sat nav? Does it have to be done at a dealer at a cost of £90 or is there a way around it? Apparently, when it's done you can update for free using the usb

Had mine updated by dealer earlier this year, and yes it can only be done by main dealer because they purchase the licence from volvo. From what I recall, this software update can take hours to perform.
IMO it's well worth the cost, because any future map updates can be done yourself. |

The earlier models using the original sensus were all disc including the ealier V40's,
90quid isn't a bad price as it involves at least 2 bits of software so you have half the cost there and if the car bricks it half way through then that 2 bits turn into 5 and another hours work
