So, 8 year old, 54k/miles V60 2.0TD D3 S/S.
This is will be my first service on this car, it's been to local garages before we bought it and it seems to have fared well. I've got a DICE but as the V60 is 2016, it's pretty much useless so use VDASH. Question is, what to look out for one this service as I there are no guide manuals for it. According to g00gle, given it's age, this should be service no8.......do I need to stick to that? No real history of previous work done except for stamps in docs at required service points. Br John. |

Although Vida won’t connect, the 2014d has pretty much all the info for the VEA V60 as it was around in 2014 - from memory it’s the only 2014 diesel 4 cylinder 2L in the engine codes.
More generally if you don’t know the history I’d start with doing everything (all filters etc) as a reset then going from a known base.

Thank you, same as I thought.
what are peoples preferences regarding filters (not Volvo supplied). Oil is a no brainer, full spec every time. |

Mann filter would be my preference if not using genuine. I’m pretty certain they make the genuine ones anyhow.

There are quite a few dealers selling genuine parts on ebay - worth a look. I use Volvopartstrade for the C30 usually.

do the fuel and air filter now if history is unknown. get the auto gearbox oil changed, now is a good time to do it. Then next year will be a basic service ask volvo for an Essential service for that one. Its the minimum. pollen filter is done on every service, any idea when it was last changed? There is a manufacturing date on it... safe to change every 2 years. If you are doing it yourself be sure to use Volvo spec 0w/20 oil VCC RBS0-2AE specially designed with Castrol for volvo VEA engines. If a garage is changing the oil make sure they use that unique oil for your engine.
