Default S60 bi fuel pcv system

Hi all. I've recently purchased an s60bi fuel 2003.
I've noticed that oil keeps coming out of the torx screw at the top of the engine. I'm guessing it's the PCV system needs replacing. However, I've did the glove test and sucks inwards. No smoke from the dipstick when pulled up. Oil seems to be leaking near the cam belt and the next to the cam seals. Will they need replacing also? Does anybody have any suggestions of where to buy a new oil trap kit as it appears to be difficult to find. Does anybody have any experience of the bifuel model?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

This usually happens when someone has replaced the head gasket and has not used the correct anaerobic sealant on the cam cover. I should know, I have the same issue because I used Victor Reinz instead of original Volvo.

Also a S60 Bifuel here. And most of my experience is only with Bifuel (CNG) model.

Thanks for the reply. What would be your suggestion apart from using the correct sealant?

Try to tighten it very slightly, just in case. It is afterall aluminum and can strip the threads if too much.

As for the oil leaks around the cam seals, it could be just the seal themselves, or could be the cam cover. You would need to closely inspect it.

I checked the bolts and one of them was loose with 3 washers. Lots of oil on the manifold gasket cam seals etc. The breather is rock hard and leaking oil so definitely pcv kit needs changing. Any advice for doing the task as I've never did one on an lpg before.

You need to remove the Intake Manifold. Not terribly difficult. If you have the newer style thermostat, the last manifold bolt is very very difficult to tigthen. A real pain in the ass and in most cases remains not very well tightened.

I do recommend for the first time, to also remove the Engine Fan. The reason is the Bifuel distributor/stepper motor(if it is a factory Bifuel LPG installation and not aftermarket) is held by two bolts underneath the intake manifold, those are very very difficult to reach with one hand and no visibility. And even putting it back on is a challenge.

Thanks for the information. Do you know which oil filter tool removal we use to change the oil? I've seen two one is 88mm and the other is 86mm with 16 Flutes.

The oil filter is standard on all petrol versions, I've used a very cheap chinese tool to unscrew it. Really, you can pick anything and I am sure it will work.
