Default Door Locks

Hi,
I have read the various threads on here and mine most likely is similar, but just asking advice

I have 2014 XC60. For a few months now, the drivers door has not been unlocking with the key fob. It locks perfectly fine remotely, just unlock is an issue. More recently, it is temperamental and will work some days, unlocking remotely, others not.

The rear passenger door now does not unlock at all using the remote key. It locks perfectly fine but will not unlock

The boot sometimes will not open on the remote key fob.

Please tell me that these all cannot be the indivdual actuators? As those are like £300ish each

I was wondering if the keyfobs could be damaged? I've replaced batteries in both but both keyfobs have been dropped at some point and the trader was dodgy, so no idea on whether they were damaged before.

Or I have read that solonoids could be a cause?

Any help much appreciated.

yes the lock unit in the door could play up on the odd random car when I was working on them. but now they are 10 years older so quite probably the problem.

The drivers one does, as can use the key, the rear unlocks on inside as soon as hit handle, but yea, think will have to book them in. I have seen actuators for about £40/£50 which say for my model, but my garage wants to charge almost £200 for the parts alone

you need the whole lock assembly in the door about £150 +VAT back then.

I parked mine up outside the MOT garage and left it unlocked in the hope they wouldn't lock it in the meantime. They didn't and it passed.

thanks! Just booked it in. They said would be ok on MOT as doors can be opened from the outside (although I said I would turn off the "autolock when driving" function, so that they would remain unlocked haha. However, will get them checked over.

hoping it might be something different and that my local garage cheaper than Volvo, as called them for advice and they said if confirmed, can't just replace the actuator, has to be entire lock, looking at £400-£500 per lock!

I have read that you can replace the motor? Which could be causing it too? And usually the most common issue....as the locks click etc just seems motor might not be strong enough..and motor costs around £15

Hi I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and I did replace just the motor but it's not an easy job , lots of plastic parts that can break and the lock has to be taken apart, I had the added problem of my car having keyless drive.
I used one of the motors available on ebay and so far has been ok .
Hope you can find someone to help you out
