Question V50 Door Mirrors

I need a drivers side door mirror for my 2008/9 V50 after something smashed mine off. Would consider buying both sides if they fit. Does anyone know if any of the other Volvo mirrors would fit? Having trouble finding the correct driver side one from eBay, the ones I have found are a different size.

Cheers

Brian

I had mine knocked off last year. Mine is 2007 pre facelift and seller assured me the one I bought from them would fit. Turned out it was from a 2008 post facelift and fixings were totally different so I would avoid early models. I dropped lucky as another popped up that day on ebay in the correct year and colour what are the chances. Hope you get sorted.

Hi
This was my story on my 2005 V50

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=332300

So for you, I would imagine, only the post facelift ones will fit

However within the post facelift ones I would imagine the “base” components will be the same.

I can see a few on eBay. What is not matching up for you?

I found the easiest way to see the difference was to compare the shape of the indicator lens.

Thanks gents. I thought I had found the correct one but when the eBayer gave me very good pics with sizes, the width was OK but the height was 6”, mine is only 5” (still talking about mirrors now). Black would be ideal but any colour would do, I can/will get it resprayed. Mine is the post facelift one. Still trolling through eBay and other sources but no joy yet. Never thought of checking the indicator lens. IainG, just read your ‘story’, interesting. As mine is power fold with puddle lights, I didn’t know how many wires I would need. Looks like ten. That’s another thing for me to look for. I was quoted by Volvo £100 for a new cover once.

If you can't find parts on Ebay, you can also try to find it on Bildelsbasen, which is the sales website of a number of Swedish car breakers. Prices are so-so but I'm not sure if you need to pay tax to import to the UK after Brexit.
