Default XC90 B5 DPF Problem

I have a 2020 XC90 B5D its covered 55k fsh since it was 2.5 years old approx every 3000 miles / 3 months the oil overfull light comes on and it has to have oil drained out. It appears to be regenerating every week and the fuel consumption has dropped from 37 mpg to 32 mpg Volvo advised it had a faulty DPF so it was replaced under warranty but it has made no difference is this a common fault with this model ?

Leaky injector??

BTW you may have better luck on the appropriate section of the Forum - this area is for the earlier models 2002 - 2015

Cheers

Morning , first question is does you car only get used for slow round town short journeys or mostly fast A road / motorway work . If it is mainly slow & short you need to drive for about 20 minutes at steady 60-65 MPH to allow the system to regen / clean the DPF . You get the fuel into the oil as they magic brain tries to perform a regen , but never completes due to short journey & temperature requirements . This becomes a loop that gets worse , short run / attempt to clean / fuel not burnt / oil dilutes & fills

I regularly send people to run their cars along M55 & back about 22 miles or further if they can , they further you can drive at constant speed the more effective a regen will be , as well as giving it a good revving at some point in the process . If you know of some one with a decent scanner , ask tey to read DPF ash loading before & after this , you might be surprised at results

Hope this helps you
