Default advice needed pcv

had smoke coming out dipstick hole on my v70r, put in to volvo and they stripped down and found pipe part no 9471644 to be blocked up, they changed this and when i got car back it still doing it but not as much, took it back and mechanic said he flushed it all out, he then reached down where the ptc valve is and pulled off the big rubber hose next to the ptc valve where it meets the air pipe that goes int the maf, he then said itsworking fine as you could hear and feel the sucking hissing noise, he then put it back on, im sure it was that hose he pulled offas it was down there, i pulled off today and it wasnt sucking at all. can anyone pull there hose off and see if theres is doing it so i know its okay

I've read that a common mistake is to replace the PCV system but not replace/clean the valve - which means the smoking issue isn't resolved. I'd try cleaning the valve out (soak in diesel overnight?) or replace it with OEM new, especially if the pipes have already been replaced.

Thats fair comment.....

The pipe you need is the smaller of the two moulded pipes on the heater valve...You will need to remove the rubber elbow and a small pin can be inserted in the hole...This can dislodge any crap blocking the oil seperator connection to the heater valve...

Failing this the valve can, as pointed out be removed from the inlet trunking by iirc twisting is 90 degs after having removed the electrical connector...

You can run it to atmosphere which is a permanent fix I hear, you will need some tubing and some where out the way to zip tie it to stop the oil running every where.

Piccy's under.
